Join us in Venice, as we explore the romantic city during the days of the Carnival, a festival of colors, perfumes, and music that has no equal in the world.
Venice during the Carnival is not only people in costumes, but it is also the baroque churches and palaces, the museums, the narrow side streets and the small canals that tourists never go to, the colored houses of Burano. Thanks to our deep knowledge of the city, you will have the option to see and photograph all of this.
This workshop is all about the beauty of Venice, its churches, palaces and canals. We will explore the city together and show you its most iconic locations in the best light, together with some less well known, but equally stunning locations. This workshop will coincide with the start of the official celebrations of the Carnival, so you will have opportunities to photograph many people in costume, but they won’t be the exclusive focus of your daily activities.
We will shoot with a mixture of natural and artificial light, exploring the possibilities offered by continuous light and by flash and by shooting at the edge of day to create surreal atmospheres.
You will be part of a small group of students (max. 12 people), which ensures you will have plenty of attention from your instructors.
“Wanted to say again how much I enjoyed the workshop. You were most accommodating for me and very patient, I loved the restaurants you took us too, great food. The whole Carnevale was a blast, esp. the last day, never thought I would have so much fun.”
– Patsy Latscha, California, USA
We are not giving here a detailed, day-by-day plan of the activities, because we want to be flexible and prepared to adapt our schedule to the timing of specific events, the availability of models, and the vagaries of weather. However, we have a general plan that includes all of the following:
While we haven’t yet determined the exact dates and prices, we want to give you the opportunity to reserve a seat right now and, by doing so, beat everyone else.
Not only that, but by booking now with a small and fully refundable initial deposit, you will enjoy a discount of €400 off the price of this workshop.
This pre-registration deposit allows you to reserve 1 (one) seat on our upcoming Venice Carnival 2018 workshop. By pre-registering, you will secure your place in line for our workshop. Once we finalize dates and prices of the workshop, you will have a few days to confirm your participation by paying a final, non refundable deposit. If after the final dates and pricing are posted you decide not to join us, this deposit will be refunded. Otherwise its amount will be applied towards the total due for the workshop.
THIS OFFER IS ONLY VALID UNTIL MAY 21st. ACT FAST BEFORE IT’S GONE!
Seats on our tours will be allocated strictly on a first-come, first-served basis and we take a maximum of 12 participants on each tour. If you are not one of the first 12, you will be automatically placed on the waiting list. If any of the first 12 registrants decide not to join the workshop, those in the waiting list will be given the option to join, in the order they registered. Pre-registering only guarantees a seat at the workshop to the first 12 registrants.
People who do not pre-register will be able to join later only if fewer than 12 people confirm their pre-registration and at the full price.
If this sounds confusing to you, here’s how it works, in a nutshell:
Right after the end of this workshop, we will be running another one that is much more focused on portraiture and aimed at intermediate to advanced amateurs. We will take things up a notch and bring you in front of the most stunning costumes that you can imagine in very exclusive settings. You can pre-register for just one workshop or for both.
